In order to promote financial inclusion and enhance access to financial services for the members of the Ethiopian Army, the Ethiopian Army Foundation and army enterprises have taken the initiative to establish a microfinance institution known as “Adwa Victory Microfinance Institution Share Company.

The name “Adwa Victory” has been chosen in honor of the historic “Adwa Victory” which holds great significance in Ethiopian history. Celebrated on 2nd March every year, the Adwa Victory Day commemorates Ethiopia’s triumphant victory against Italy’s colonization efforts during the Battle of Adwa in 1896. This momentous victory is a source of pride for the Ethiopian Army, who pay tribute to the brave members of their forces during the celebrations. The Adwa Victory Day is deeply connected to the symbol of Pan-Africanism and represents the aspirations of the black community. At ADWA VICTORY MICROFINANCE, we strive to embody the spirit of resilience, unity, and progress that the Adwa Victory represents.

Logo and Description

Name

The name Adwa Victory is taken from the memory of Adwa Victory which is the victory of Ethiopians and all Africans in general. This indicates that, just like in Adwa Victory, where Ethiopians gathered their strength from all sides and defeated the invaders, Adwa Victory Microfinance is established as an effort to conquer poverty through capital creation which involves gathering the little money scattered in the pockets of Ethiopians.

 Colors

The colors seen in the logo are mainly two, the first blue color represents loyalty, sustainability, creativity, and innovation. The second is the golden color, which represents success, victory, potential wealth, and beauty. To use this potential wealth of Ethiopia to overcome poverty, Adwa Victory Microfinance works hard to create capital by collecting the money that is scattered in small amounts.

 Symbols

There are three symbols seen in the logo. The first image is the one represented in blue and represents the English letter capital A (A). This is derived from the first letter of the English word “Adwa Victory”. The second image is painted in gold, which is the second word from the first letter of the English word “Adwa Victory” represented with capital V. The third figure is a shield, and it represents shadow, resilience, protection, and wisdom. Adwa Victory shows its determination to serve as a shadow and protection for many Ethiopians.
